 Bio:

The goal of the project is to convey a specific human emotion into each song, utilizing various percussion/instrumental textures, tempos and song dynamics... If you listen closely you can hear traditional tones like congas/bongos, djembe', flutes, guitars, violin and tablas along side the more adventurous and unorthodox sounds of water jugs and power screwdrivers. This is all "glued" together with the hypnotic and energetic bass playing of Ed Roman, the ambient and ethereal keyboard layerings of Michael Jack and the melodic guitar rhythms of Steve Middleton ....This is definitely music for the "global village".
Along the way, some special guests appear on this debut cd to add another dimension to The Big Beat Collective sound. The Approach of bringing together a wide variety of musicians, cultures and influences adds to the international flavour which will continue to be part of this on-going "musical experiment". As you listen to the cd, realize that over 90% of the performances are entirely improvised. This way an honest and "real" energy is captured. The music is rhythmic and melodic."What we hope to achieve is something entirely fresh and original. When we're in the studio there are no rules, everything we do is spontaneous and unrehearsed. I think that adds to the honest , emotional content of our sound."
