Brian
& Peter - The Ambient Story
Brian
Jack began playing bass at the
age of 14 and played as a self
taught muician for six years. He
later continued to futhered his
skills by studying first at
Humber College, then Berkley in
California. Peter Swann obegan
playing guitar and drums at the
age of eight. He decided to
concentrate on his music as a
career and attended Humber
College's Jazz Guitar
program.
In
May of 1993, Peter Swann and
Brian Jack met through a circle
of musical friends. Having both
experimented with ambient
textures, a collaboration ensued.
When Ambient Dreams was being
recorded, Brian contributed
dreamy, jazzy moods layered with
lush synthesizer textures and
hypnotic bass. Peter's role was
to interpret the music and to add
complimentary guitar parts to the
mix. The collaboration with Peter
and Brian working closely
together on all phases of the
shared compositions create the
ultimate in ambient
moods.
The
goal of Ambient Dreams is to
transport the listener to another
world, where the mind and body
can relax. Jim Barber of the
Collingwood Connection newspaper
wrote "This is one of the better
crafted environmental CD's I've
heard...there is some tremendous
musicianship demonstrated
here."
